Welcome to the Knights of Columbus

Welcome to the official website for the Mt. Zion Knights of Columbus. We  launched this website in celebration of our council's tenth anniversary in 2005.

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Application blanks are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus.

YOUTH FREE THROW CONTESTS
All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 (age as of January 1, 2009) are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2009 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 12:30 PM in the Mt. Zion Intermediate School Gym. Registration will be held from 12:00 to 12:30. This contest is free to all participants.


The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest is sponsored annually with winners progressing through local, district, regional and state competitions. All boys and girls 10 to 14 are eligible to participate and will compete in respective age divisions. Participants are required to have written parental consent. Appropriate forms will be available at the registration before the contest begins. For additional information, please contact Bill Cole at 423-4519.


Local winners will move on to the District Free Throw Contest which will be held at St. Teresa High School on February 14 at 1:00pm. So contestants will need to be there by 12:30.
