2008 Free Throw
Contest
MT. ZION KNIGHTS OF
COLUMBUS
TO SPONSOR YOUTH FREE THROW CONTEST
All boys and girls
ages 10 to 14 (age as of January 1, 2008) are invited to participate in the
local level of competition for the 2008 Knights of Columbus Free Throw
Championship. The local competition will be held on Saturday, January 12 at
10:30 AM at the MT. Zion Grade School Gym. Registration will be held from
10:00 to 10:30. This contest is free to all participants.
The Knights of
Columbus Free Throw Contest is sponsored annually with winners progressing
through local, district, and state competition. All boys and girls 10 to 14
are eligible to participate and will compete in respective age divisions.
However, any 14-year old in high school that is participating in IHSA
basketball is ineligible to participate due to IHSA by-laws. Last year,
more than 179,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,000 local
competitions.
All contestants on the local level are
recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required
to have written parental consent. Appropriate forms will be available at
the registration before the contest begins. For additional information,
